Shilajit Chocolate Superfood Balls Recipe

shilajit superfood balls

Because it has such a strong taste, it is best to combine shilajit with other strong flavors.  The peanut butter and chocolate in this superfood balls recipe does a great job of masking the shilajit flavor, which is especially useful if you want to get kids to take shilajit or simply don’t like to take shilajit straight-up.

I recommend Pure Himalayan Shilajit Resin. The brand is reputable and resin forms of shilajit are more concentrated than liquids.  Siberian Treasure Shilajit is another good brand and more affordable.

Ingredients:

  • 2 grams shilajit resin or powder (or add more – a recommended dosage is about 0.5g per day)
  • 3 tablespoon peanut butter or other nut butter
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil, cupuacu butter or shea butter
  • 1 cup soft dates, pitted (about 10-13 dates)
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds, sesame seeds or hemp hearts
  • 2-3 tbsp oats (quinoa flakes also work)
  • 3 tbsp chocolate, cut into pieces

Instructions:

  • Put the peanut butter into your food processor
  • Add the shilajit. Using a spoon, mix it into the peanut butter. This will ensure you don’t end up with globs of shilajit in the balls. Make sure you don’t hit the food processor blades when doing this.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients.
  • Pulse until the ingredients come together. Don’t over mix – you want there to still be some crunchy pieces of almonds instead of a puree!
  • If the mixture is too sticky, add some more oats and pulse again.
  • Roll the mixture into balls.
  • In hot temperatures, it’s best to keep these refrigerated.
